Meet Deets
Meet #54   |   09/08/14   |   Hosted by Whisky Fringe
8 of us headed on down to Whisky Fringe 2014 and about an hour in, we all sampled this single cask offering from Ben Nevis - a distillery we'd not tried at the club before.
Smells
Dry sherry, 'cherry sherry', "a beautiful Highland landscape" (sarcasm), heathery sheep-turds (sarcasm?), Chupa Chups and toffee. 'Good nose', sweet and maybe some PX in there.
Tastes
Sweet and sherried, milky with cream ("Thanks, Creamy!"), oak and vanilla. Like driving past the Ben Nevis Creamery, but you're eating Coco Pops and drinking a / going Coco Loco. it was also sharp and fresh, with a sourness noted too.

Kick-starting a new distillery with a pricey single cask bottling.
Finish & Comments
Lemons, Caramac bars and tarmacadam. It was sweet and tangy with a medium length. There is some confusion as to whether it tasted of "midget" or "midget gems", but it seems that "iced gems" was definitely said in jest.
Cost
~£116 (70cl)
