A couple of interesting whiskies forming a sort of 'new and old' evening. A young, virgin oak Benromach offering the youthful and modern side of things, whilst an older, heavily-sherried Glendronach would be all refined and rich...

Hay/Hey! Pine cleaner, Playdough (double!), metal, Strawberry Toffos, hot lemon (not sexy). Unripe stewed rhubarb, post-cocaine back-nose dribble (hints of), rosewater, sweet fresh oak, a distant chemical toilet, feijoa (A made-up fruit from NZ), a minimal stir-fry cooked by Ali Lloyd involving soy sauce, 5 spice, courgette, lime juice, chicken and garlic, delicious. Iain says it smells nothing like Playdough or a stir-fry.

Dry & sour, incredibly sour sweets, Phil says it tastes like delicious cock, buttery, a lack of woody sweetness, feijoa, TOTAL FUCKING CHAOS, chocolate, o(a)k, slated butter, black pepper burn, burnt rubber, burnt toast, intriguing, "I'm starting to think this could be a bad idea".

Metallic, 'no idea', treacle, lemon tart, really good finish, medium-long (a 19 yard drive in football speak), Herby goes Bananas (isn't a banana a herb?).

~£38 (70cl)
