Our priciest whisky to date, we went out on a limb for our Christmas Special and got hold of a bottle of Glen Ord 28yo.
Our priciest whisky to date, we went out on a limb for our Christmas Special and got hold of a bottle of Glen Ord 28yo.

Honey-sweet at first with rich molasses coming through. The floral tones of a Christmas wake: lilies, marzipan and dried fruits. Finishes with a hint of coffee, vanilla and manger hay.

A rich, earthy flavour with the windswept reminiscence of moorland walks with a grouse. The breeze brings thoughts of seasalt, lavender and highland pastures; a blade of grass clenched between milk teeth. Thoughts soon turn to home, with a citrus burst, golden syrup and a smoky paprika afterthought.

Peppery rocket leaves blast through a lingering lemony finish. After-tones of persistent marmalade and melon sweep though a cocoa climax.

~£120 (70cl)
