Meet #6   |   15/01/11   |   Hosted by Russell
It was Blends Night at the Southside Whisky Club and we stupidly decided to review this whisky after sinking 2 other bottles.. slight carnage.
Other bottles sampled:
#10 Bailie Nichol Jarvie | Not reviewed
#11 Campbeltown Loch | Not reviewed
Smells
Rich, sweet and fruity, like a journey on the fruit-train from bananas to raisins via grapefruit (all fruit-trains pass through grapefruit). Apple and brandy notes combine into, well, apple brandy.
Tastes
Sweet, rich and spicy. All the ingredients of an early December party: dried fruits, orange peel and spice for the mince pies washed down with mulled wine and port. Petunias, chocolate and fudge with a lingering autumn mulch. Do you have to let it linger? (no cranberries, though).
Finish & Comments
A long syrupy, salty, spicy, Lidl Christmas biscuity finish. Shove that down your air-hole.
Cost
~£32 (70cl)
