Distinct aromas of caramel, molasses and raisins, with a hint of irn bru coming through as well. It's Christmas in the mouth with orange, cloves and Christmas cake all present, balanced out with a dashing of cinnabar.

Its aniseed, burnt sugar and demorara, but then a secondary wave hits - turf, slate, a wood burning stove and bark, and some forlorn mountaintop in there too.

It’s smokier here, with peat and medicine and an all encompassing warmth. Upon savouring, it’s a wet monkey rolling around in treacle and elderflower winning a watch in a raffle and wait, what’s this? yep, it’s political uncertainty and pineapple – who’d have thunk it?

Spice (with nutmeg vibes), game, butter and celery.

~£30 (70cl)
