For info   Reviews on this site try to be pretty free-form, focusing on the overall feeling of the dram as well as specific flavours. The scoring is biased towards taste (the key factor!), and drams are always tested against a control or as part of a group test.

Paint a picture...
You're sat in an unnerving Leith boozer, feeling slightly pessimistic about the near future. You go up to order a pint to try ans cut through the tension, but you're just handed a glass full of lemons, as you feel a heavy hand on your shoulder. As you turn around, a burly Leither looks you square in the eyes.. "when life gives you lemons..." *PUNCH* - you hit the deck and the light slowly dims to black.

Come on now, what are the key flavours?
Smells of dried apple, soy sauce, a cheap Nepalese restaurant, petrol, banana chips, strawberry milkshake and is generally sweet and creamy. Tastes sour and raw, and of creamy fruit (masked by harshness), chili toffee, off-lemon and natural liquorice. It leaves your mouth dry and continues its souring attack.

Seriously though, any good?
Its best feature was a nice fruity scent, but it was almost obliterated by a raw harshness when tasted. It seemed to get worse over time, although there was a small something in there that piqued the interest - but not enough to keep coming back. I finished the glass, a feat I was quite pleased with.

For me anyway, this was the right size of bottle to buy.

In summary:
A bit of a cult classic, but one that's definitely more cult and less classic. Worth a try in a dusty Leith pub, but you'll be unlikely to be found searching for a bottle the following day.
